about us
about us

yakabagh house is beautifully set in an orange orchard overlooking xanthos valley, a pleasant walking distance from the ancient lycian city of pinara.

our farm consists of two gardens, one in our backyard where we have fruit trees, vegetable and herb gardens
. the other garden, a short distance away, holds our vineyard  and olive trees, where guests can pick their own olives and make their own olive oil using traditional methods. we practice organic farming in both our gardens - according to permaculture principals.

your hosts, sinan, isabel, and daughter iris,  love sharing their home with guests.  sinan and isabel moved away from the “big city” into this remote part of the mediterranean in 2002, and have been growing their life here ever since.  sinan anadol worked as a photojournalist for atlas magazine  and focused on articles on ethnic culture and indigenous peoples living in harmony with the land. he loves yoga, conversation, and thai massage.  isabel, originally from cuba, has a love of cooking, and enjoys trying the many varities of seasonal herbs the valley has to offer. She loves playing with children, dancing and being with iris.  four year old iris is still developing her personality, but shows a love of swimming, laughing, riding the horse, meeting new people, and keeping you on your toes.  we love getting to know new people and sharing our lifestyle.

in 2008, yakabagh house opened its doors to longer term guests who would be willing to take more initiative in the farm. since then, some friends have moved in and moved on leaving good memories and laughs behind. in 2009, laila, nihat and their two year old halis - escaping from the crowd of paris into toscana valley found their way to yakabagh house, bringing their knowledge and experience. worked in international law firms, nihat now designs our synergetic garden - and pretty much beating everyone in backgammon. originally from german decent, laila learns about natural diets. essential oils and herbal teas. she loves experimenting with home grown sprouts, home made breads and sharing her knowledge with guests. although he is quite young, halis grows in a free environment making his own decissions as much as possible, because of growing in a multicultural and multilingual environment, he just like iris is developing strong communication skills with others.
